A New Name

And I will write on him my new name. Revelation 3:12
Then you will win favor and a good name in sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:4
A good name is more desirable than riches. Proverbs 22:1
You will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow. Isaiah 62:2

Abram becomes Abraham.
Sarai becomes Sarah.
Saul becomes Paul.
Because of Zion's righteousness, her name is no longer called Deserted and Desolate,
but Hephzibah ("My delight is in her") and Beulah ("Married")

A new relationship with God often requied a new name to signify that new relationship. God's new name for Abraham bestowed honor on him and encouraged and confirmed his faith. The name change for Sarah meant that God cofirmed the promise He made to her. Saul became Paul and became driven to proclaim the Word of the Lord.
